Sourdough Success

Nothing makes me happier than seeing my Easy Sourdough for Beginners members succeed! I have been overwhelmed with the positive response from my starter guide! These photos were shared by someone in my group who finally had success by following my guide!

“I finally did it. My first loaf of sourdough using the pinned recipe in here!!! The first time I tried I completely misunderstood bulk fermentation and didn’t count all the time from mixing/folding so it completely over fermented and I made some amazing focaccia.

This go round I actually printed out the log and did everything perfectly timed. Except the bulk rise. I think it was a little shorter than what would’ve made the 5 hrs suggested but couldn’t be specific as I was navigating dinner & my two children.

I go by intuition and rewatching videos a million times but I will say that bulk fermentation chart is pretty spot on!!“

I had my favorite pumpkin beer at a Labor Day pool party on Sunday and I am officially ready for all things pumpkin and fall! So yesterday, I made one of my other favorite things: pumpkin pancakes. I love them topped with maple syrup, but they are good with just the cheap stuff too! If you love pumpkin, definitely give these a try!...

Cause it was never mine..... But really, how is August already already over? This past week has been a flurry of getting kids back to school, laundry piling up, and I haven't baked anything in a week! This is the first time I've had an empty home in 8 years as my youngest is now in full-time pre-K. This is also the first year I didn't take on any cake orders. In the past, I made multiple cake and cupcake orders every week, but growing my online business(my sourdough group and now my growing...

pumpkin gobs What's a gob and is it sourdough? No...LOL! So If you're asking what a "gob" is, it is also known as a "whoopie pie by the Amish." It's basically a cookie sandwich but the cookies are more like cake. The frosting in a traditional chocolate gob is usually a fluffy cooked frosting, but for my favorite flavor, pumpkin, a cream cheese filling is a must. I grew up in Western Pennylvania in Amish country and they were sold at our local Gas Stations! I know this isn't Sourdough, but I...
